Just wowNever did I ever even surmise the outcome of this book. Twists and turns that lead the reader to an unholy conclusion.

Love this seriesI really enjoy this series and I hate that I’m late to the game! The main character’s neuroses was a little much in this book, but I forgave her and finished the book anxious to begun reading the next!

as always, Karen White is an amazing writer.Karen White is my all time most favorite author. Living near Charleston SC at the time I was introduced to the Tradd St series made reading them, all the more exciting. Getting to meet the author in Mt Pleasant and having her sign my Kindle cover ( and her book) is one of my cherished memories. I hope Karen continues to bring us many more of these historic paranormal fantasy books. They are wonderful! Thank you Karen for all the wonderful reads.

Great read!** spoiler alert ** Oh, what to say?!?! As always, Karen White delivers on a good Melanie and Jack novel…although, I must say that Jack was not a present as he was in the other mysteries. I guess that is to be expected with twins in the picture now. Someone has to be watching them!I really connected with Melanie on this book. I’ve never been tall and thin so it was hard to relate in the other novels….and I’ve never given birth before, let alone to twins, but I could really understand and connect with the issues she was having with her appearance and feeling insecure. I’m the queen of being insecure. And when she was comparing herself to Jayne at one point, I think it was when Jayne was getting ready to go running and Melanie was on her way to work and Thomas came up the sidewalk, and she was having a lot of inner thoughts. I started to tear up for her. It was very relate-able.One of the most gut wrenching part of this book was her insecurities when it was came to Jack and Jayne. That’s everyone’s worst nightmare. And you don’t want to believe that Jack could do something like that to her. However, it was a looming presence throughout the whole book. I don’t want to give too much away but you really need to have faith in Jack in this one. I will say that I’ve fallen in love with Jack since book one, but this book, I wasn’t as in love with him. And I simply think it is because of the looming thoughts that Melanie is having. Plus, he isn’t around all that much, as compared to the other books. He didn’t have a lot of those one liner’s that made you fall in love with him as much.As for the mystery – of course, Karen White delivered well on that. She definitely delivered a new twist to the story line for the future with this new mystery. I saw the story pulling together before it was delivered to the reader, but like two pages beforehand. And when I finally figured out what the mystery was, I couldn’t believe I had not seen it earlier. It was a very clever plot, I must say.I did enjoy the growth that Melanie had portrayed in this book. The whole not ignoring everything and hoping it goes away type of thing. She did regress a couple of times in the book, but don’t we all? You have to give her credit for the improvement she has taken in order to be more adult and facing issues head on. That’s why I was very disappointed in Jack. He was insisting on her facing her issues head on and talking to him about stuff and to find out he was hiding stuff from her – it was a slap to the face. I was bit sad we didn’t get to see more of an apology and what not between Melanie and Jack once they reconciled. I felt like there should have been more but, of course, the ghosts were imminent and intervening. As always, Karen White is always a five star read!I can’t wait for book 6 of the series! I’ll keep reading them as long as Karen White decides to write them 🙂

They’re Like Potato ChipsYou can’t read just one. This is the fifth installment of the adventures of the Trenholm family, which seems to expand with Rach book. I began this book immediately after finishing the previous one, partly because I wasn’t sure where they could go from there. It turns out they could go quite far, although not quite as elegant!y as they did the last time out. Still, it’s a solid four-star book and I’m almost ready to see what happens next.

Guests on South Battery–or Were they GhostsOnce you visit Charleston, taking note of all the historic homes, you have to love Karen White’s books. She is one of the few authors or can describe one of the historical homes, the restoration work that goes into them, and combine that story with a possible story that could have occurred to the previous residents. No matter whether you believe the ghost part of the book or not, they’re always an interesting read that makes you want to visit Charleston, take a tour of the city and of an old home, and just imagine.

Not my favorite in this series.3.5- Not my favorite in this series. Melanie is the most annoying character. Ever. Too much time on her which drug out the story. It all then is rushed at the end to tie up all loose ends.

Happy with the service!Having read the other books I couldn’t wait to get this one but alas, it has failed to live up to my expectations. I have tried and tried again to get into it, but am still stuck with it … I am halfway through and have neither the heart or interest to read any more. The book arrived safely and well packaged though and I highly recommend the seller to you.
